Sometimes it takes a trick to accomplish a seemingly simple job. Like say you want to set text vertically in InDesign. How would you do that? The job is easy in Illustrator, but InDesign lacks a push-button solution for vertical text. Fortunately, the fix is quick and simple—once you start thinking outside the (text) box. Use Type on a Path on a path. In one of my InDesign FX videos, I show how to set vertical text (including which Type on a Path options you need to choose) as well as how to overcome a little defect, where the last character can fall out of alignment with the rest.
Check it out at InDesign FX.
