Here’s a really, ahem, noteworthy effect: custom notebook paper, like the kind you could put in a 3-ring binder. When it comes to relatively simple objects like this, you can make almost photo realistic stuff with InDesign effects, and some careful observation. The keys are finding the right color for the paper (hint: white paper isn’t really white), and making the rules with a custom underline.
